Essence of the Thymes

The food was fabulous, Gina is amazing, and you can't beat the price!!! We had Essence of the Thymes cater our wedding, and they were terrific. They are totally flexible and open to ideas, and were so much less expensive than every other catering company we looked at. The best part? The food was better than the tastings at the other companies, and we couldn't have been more ecstatic with the service. We had signature cocktails, and they were SO good - Gina and her crew even came up with the recipes. I highly recommend them!

Most importantly, the food was FABULOUS! We still have guests commenting on how great it was. Also, our wedding was at a park. Essence set up and broke down all the tables and linens as well as provided all of the glassware, dishes, etc. It all went smoothly and took a ton of stress off my mind. Also, because they handled it all so well, the friends and family helping me with the day didn't have to worry about it either. I highly recommend them!

We absolutely loved everything about Essence of the Thymes. They catered two events for us during our wedding weekend in Gig Harbor; a rehearsal dinner and a family dinner on back to back nights. Both meals were delicious and beautifully presented. All the staff are wonderful, professional, friendly and accommodating. Hope was easy to reach and prompt in returning calls. The tasting they provided for us was unmatched, extensive and delicious. Their prices were lower than other caterers in the area and tasted so better. You will not be disappointed. Essence of the Thymes is the best!

We loved essence of the thymes the were so great to work with from the very start To the finish. The food was wonderful, the tasting was a blast and the wedding turned out perfect. The staff is great and they are very flexible with the menu and work well with your budget. We recommend them to all :)

My husband (now) and I loved working with Essence of the Thymes Catering! They were kind, professional, and very personable. We both loved the wedding, so much that we wanted to do it again - everything was totally perfect, including the awesome food! I would highly recommend Essence of the Thymes for any wedding or fine event, just make sure that you really include all of the various fees when determining the final cost. The way they break down the prices makes it look less than it ends up being, so do the math first!

Gina and the team at Essence of The Thymes catering could not have been any more fabulous. Every step of planning the menu was easy. We went to two tastings, and the 2nd one we got to try a "mini meal" of everything on our wedding menu! The day of our wedding the service was friendly and flawless. Our buffet was beautiful in presentation, and the food was even better than we hoped! We never expected so many people to comment on how great the food was - I even had a few guests say it was the best wedding dinner they ever had! They took care of the champagne toast and cutting and serving the cake. They were professional and delivered exactly what we wanted. The price was VERY good compared to other options we looked into in the area. I highly recommend them to ANYONE. Bravo!

The nicest people in the business. They were so open to my funky ideas and definitely followed through. We had an awesome gourmet burger bar and so many guests said their burger was the best they had ever had.

I am so happy I went with Essence of the Thymes! They were wonderful. They started off great by offering us a free tasting of so many of their options, then continued to be wonderful with communication via email. Anything I asked, they helped me out with. They were fantastic come the day of the wedding! They helped set up at our venue, were fully prepared for the fact that the venue had no kitchen, were great with my guests, and completely took care of tear down at the end of the night (part of our package with them). The food was amazing! We received so many compliments on the food! The service was outstanding. They even had one person who constantly checked on us, the bride and groom, to make sure we'd eaten and to make sure we didn't want for anything. When the wedding wrapped up a little early, they even helped track down the park staff so that my husband and I didn't have to wait around any longer. True professionals. I highly recommend them.

I would recommend Essence of the Thymes to anyone! I loved this little company! I was a bride planning my wedding from a distance and Gina was attentive by email and Skype (her idea!). We had a nice food trial with her and decided to go with her and her staff. We had unconventional requests such as donuts instead of wedding cake and a late night popcorn snack and they delivered perfectly! The food simply went beyond our expectations--so delicious! I had many guests tell me it was the best wedding food they ever had and also my Norwegian friend said it was some of the best salmon she had ever had (explaining this is a big compliment from a Norwegian)! Gina and her staff pay attention to detail, are sweethearts and good cooks--what more could you ask for! Thanks Essence of the Thymes!

Gina was great! The whole team was very professional and did a fantastic job. Everyone commented on how delicious the food was - it really made our reception wonderful.

If you are looking for a caterer take a good look at Essence of the Thymes! After our tasting they came up with a couple different menus for us and when we asked if they could do some sort of slider sandwich instead of the prime rib for our afternoon reception Gina said let me see what we can come up with. They got back to us in a timely fashion with a suggestion for mini French dip sandwiches which were incredible. We had a wonderful buffet and also rented all of our tables and linens through them at around half the cost of other caterers we had gotten estimates from. We still have people telling us how wonderful the food was and I've had several people tell me it was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding.

Essence of Thymes is a great off-site catering company. Our first initial meeting, they prepared a few items for us to taste which were amazing. They were super flexible and open to preparing foods not listed on their menu. On the day of our outdoor wedding, they had to improvise a lot due to the rain, but with ample staff, they were still able to pull off a wonderful, covered rainy day picnic. The food was excellent and my favorite part was the wedding pies which Gina handmade for 200 guests. The service was classy and we would highly recommend them.

Essence of the Thymes provided wonderful food for our wedding day. We had several people compliment the food and there was enough for everyone.
