We hired Lina for our wedding which was very relaxed so we hoped that the reviews wouldn't apply to our low maintenance affair. She was an hour and a half late, brought half of the food we ordered/ paid for and to top it off she cried once she realized how little food she had brought. The food was not great, for example there was an offensive amount of garlic used and the focaccia sandwiches which not on focaccia bread. To make matters worse, Lina would not respond to our phone calls or emails when we tried to explains our dissatisfaction. It was a huge mistake to hire Purple Fig Catering - you should not do the same.

Wow! What an unfavorable experience! The owner showed up late to provide linens causing everyone to wait to decorate the tables. When she did show up, she had an attitude because she had been called to ask where she was. She then left and didn't show up until 10 minutes before the time dinner was to be served. We had made three phone calls 10-15 minutes prior to her arrival to see where she was and if there was a problem. Not once did she answer her phone or return a call to let us know that she was running late or on her way. We had sent another person out to the store to buy other food in case she didn't show at all. When she showed, once again, she was in a huff and very rude. She then complained to the bride during the dinner about being called about her absence instead of letting the bride enjoy her dinner. The amount of food paid for was not delivered, and the food that was served was just OK. We should have known that this wouldn't be positive because the owner was slow to return phone calls from the beginning.

Where do I begin... I will begin with a positive note. This catering company makes outstanding food. If you are looking for a meal that you will be completely satisfied with, this is the place to bring your business. That is if you can deal with the owner being late to every meeting, yelling at your family during the wedding reception, or completely not following through with promises. You have to understand where I am coming from before you can get a complete picture. I didn't just utilize the catering services of the Purple Fig, we rented the chapel the company is housed out of. The building is a very old, quaint little chapel and will work for weddings no larger than 50 people. The purple fig is very well priced so I didn't go into this deal with high expectations. But when the owner and head chef yells at my guests I draw the line. When the owner and head chef is rude to my bride when she asks to move a table just because she will have to rearrange the table configuration, I draw the line. I do have good things to say about this company, the food was outstanding and they are very well priced. But take extreme caution in trusting your wedding day to this company in any aspect other than food.

Hard to contact, took 1-2 weeks to receive and call back or answer to an email. she was very rude to me and my mom. when my now husband and i went to taste the food, it was delicious, and the punch was amazing. the stuff that was served at our wedding was not what we had contracted with her. the punch was basically water, and the food was not up to par with what she showed us we would have. her staff members were very rude to me (the bride) and my mom. on top of all the problems, they were late with set up and bringing the food, so we had to stress about that before the ceremony along with getting ready. to sum it up, she is very unprofessional and doesn't deliver what you order.

Purple Fig was late too the event, did not provide all of the food and drink agreed upon and paid for in the contract. The catering staff was very professional, but the caterer herself was rude to several family members and the groom. Response time to my emails and phone calls averaged about two weeks. Overall, working with Purple Fig was very stressful and did meet our expectations.
