The Tarantellas is an acoustic duo that specializes in playing "The Legendary Favorite Songs of Italy"! With an Italian Bowl-back Mandolin, Acoustic Guitar, Chromatic Mouth Organ, and harmony Vocals, the sound evokes the sunny skies and love for life of the Italian culture. Romantic Love Songs, Classical Waltzes, and wild Tarantella Dances are all part of the authentic mix of our Melodies Italiano. Beautiful traditional Italian Wedding Songs are sung in English for all to enjoy!Who we are:Richard Sclafani and Peter Cicero are lifelong musicians who grew up in Italian-American families and neighborhoods during the '50's, the heyday of the Italian-American crooners. They met 30 years ago in Seattle and have been musical "paesans" ever since. Both have performed as singer-songwriters, and in bands ranging from folk, to blues, to rock n roll over the years. Six years ago they were asked to play some Italian love songs for a wedding, which set them off on a quest to learn all those great melodies that they remembered from childhood.
